Ragan Finishes 30th at ‘Dega

No. 55 Aaron’s Dream Machine Toyota driver David Ragan finished 30th in Sunday’s 500-mile NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Talladega Superspeedway. The Michael Waltrip Racing driver started 22nd and raced mid-pack for the first half of the 188-lap race. With 60 to go, Ragan took two tires and moved to sixth but a few laps later No. 55 was black flagged by NASCAR for leaking fluid. Ragan pitted multiple times and lost two laps while his crew searched, but could not find the leak. Ragan finished the race without incident, but could not return to the lead lap. Ragan and the No. 55 Aaron’s team return to action Sunday at Martinsville Speedway.

  • Started 22nd and finished 30th
  • Raced in the middle of the pack the first half of the race
  • Vaulted to sixth with 60 to go before black-flagged for leaking fluid
  • Lost two laps making multiple pit stops

RAGAN: “That was a tough day for us. We just rode in the early part of the race and then made our move getting up to sixth. I don’t know what happened after that with the fluid. We had a really good Aaron’s Dream Machine today, wish we could have raced at the end.”
