Mark Martin Race Summary: No. 55 Aaron’s Dream Machine Toyota driver Mark Martin finished sixth in Saturday’s 500-mile NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Martin started second and led the third and fourth laps. The Michael Waltrip Racing driver spent most of the race working to make his car turn better, but rarely fell outside the top-five and never out of the top 10. Martin ran third in the closing laps, but a late fuel stop was the difference between the sixth-place finish and battling for the victory. Martin’s MWR teammate Clint Bowyer stretched his fuel mileage in the closing laps to win for the third time in 2012. The victory capped a successful night for MWR that also saw Martin Truex Jr. finish 10th. The Aaron’s Dream Machine returns to action Sunday at Kansas Speedway.

MARTIN: “What a great night for MWR. Three cars in the top 10 says everything there is to say about this race team. The Aaron’s Dream Machine was so close tonight. We fought a tight car but were just a tick off. Congrats to Clint Bowyer for the victory and Martin turned in another strong run. I couldn’t be prouder. We have a really great thing going here and we aren’t done yet
